Happy Valentines!

Oh well, my greeting may be a day late but what the heck right? Better late than never. So there. Haha! I celebrated valentines with my family. My mom prepared a feast and it was superb I must say. Complete with the presentation. And it's really tasty. Yummy to the eyes and to the tummy, like I always say. :)

The special menu for the day included Pumpkin Soup with Croutons, Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp Salad, Steak with Mashed Potatoes and Buttered Carrots and Corn, plus the dessert which I made, the Strawberry Cream Pie. It was a feast I'm telling you! Awesome food and company. Love love love <3

Food is love <3 Again, stay in love everyone!

NY Cheesecake with Strawberry Compote

I just love desserts! I think it is the highlight of every meal. Haha! I'm a sucker for sweets so I keep a lookout for new dessert recipes to make (or bake). Anyhoo, the other day I was really craving for cheesecake. And since we have lots of strawberries since my parents just came from Baguio (and strawberries was my only great request from them) I made a strawberry compote as a topping for my homemade NY Style Cheesecake. I researched a lot of recipes and watched videos of how to make a cheesecake because I don't want to screw it up.

So yea, it was a success and (I think) everyone likes it.

Fresh from the oven. NY Cheesecake. Yum!

And here is the finished product. Yummy to the eyes and to the tummy!

Double Down!

For some weird reason that I myself am not aware of, I haven't heard of KFC's Double Down, not until last week I guess. Where on earth have I been living? Under a rock? Yes, I also asked that myself when my boyfriend asked me if I already tried the very famous Double Down from KFC. It's weird because I only saw the commercial on TV just after I tried it.

For those who don't like eating fast food that much (and those who seem to live under a rock like me) Double Down is a sandwich with no bun. Haha! That's a good way to start describing it right? Well, 2 pieces of chicken serves as a bun and there is a filling of bacon, cheese, and sauce in the middle.

I think it's good. I'm not really much of a fast food fan so I didn't appreciate it that much but it will make you full alright. I was stuffed after sampling it. And for chicken (and KFC) lovers out there, I think you will love it.

Hibernation

Welcome 2011! Oh my! It's been hella long since the last time I wrote in my blog. It was as if I underwent hibernation since the holidays because I really didn't feel like using the computer. No long hours of twitter nor facebook. I think I was so engrossed reading all the Harry Potter books. I actually am clueless why all of a sudden I became interested in reading and watching the series. The last time I got hooked with it was back when I was in High School. Haha :)

I'm currently reading book 6, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. My eyes hurt most of the time because of too much reading I guess. It's okay though, I love the books anyway. (Thank you Kwani for lending me books 5 and 6. Hugs!)

And oh, I did took a lot of pictures during the holidays for my blog. But unfortunately, I was so busy with stuff that I wasn't able to write about my holiday escapades. I guess it's too much late if I blog about it now, so there.

Nothing Beats A Day Spent With Family

My sister Raine and I have been looking for a Starbucks branch with available GCs for ages. It was the best gift that we thought of giving our parents for Christmas since they love having coffee dates whenever. The problem though was finding a branch that has available GCs. We already went to 4 branches but to no avail it's always out of stock. Thank God it was available in SB Gateway branch. At least we were able to give our gift before 2011 starts :)

After strolling and scouring over the 3 malls of Araneta (SM, AliMall, Gateway) we finally decided to have lunch when papa arrived to join us from work. He told us that he wants to eat at Super Bowl (in Gateway). We already ate there a couple of times and I like their food (and I am extremely hungry) so I was contented with the choice. And being the foodie that I am, I took pictures of the food.

My sister Ais and her Iced tea

Oops. I forgot to take a picture before we devoured it.

After eating lunch and walking around the mall, my parents decided to use the GCs we gave them so we headed to Starbucks to kill time.

And since tomorrow were leaving early to go to the province, I shall rest now. Good night! :)

We Will Miss You Dinna!

I got to see my college friends yesterday, December 27 at Dinna's place. It was a despedida (goodbye) party for our friend because she's leaving for Australia soon. And at the same time it was kind of a post Christmas get together for us too since some of us haven't seen each other for quite some time now. It was a blast! All we did was talk, laugh our hearts off, take pictures and EAT. We were stuffed because there was a lot of food. As I always say, time spent with friends is always the best thing eveeeer!

Yummy food!
I'll miss you Dinna! :(
Credits to Chicka for the pictures. Thank you love!

The Venice Piazza

Last December 26 after attending the Sunday Mass, my family decided to go somewhere we have never been before. My mom and I have heard about Venice Piazza at McKinley Hill so we decided to go there. The place pretty much looks like Eastwood but smaller. There are lots of restaurants to choose from and there was even a bazaar the time we went there. It was a great place to go eat and take pictures because of the Venice like ambiance of the place.

We ate at My Thai and I must say, the food was great! I was stuffed! Definitely the restaurant is a must try.

I had a blast with my family! And we had fun taking lots of pictures :)
